Ways to use a L-shape Canvas Floater Frame.

Floater frames are used to frame Canvas Gallery Wrap.

Now let's look at a non-conventional way a floater frame can be used. That is, a
picture frame within a floater frame. On the image below, we have a plan black
floater frame paired with a barn-wood textured picture frame. Here you can have
fun pairing two styles of frame. This unique way of framing adds character to your
artwork. That's something we don't see much often.

L-shape floater frame can be used with or without gap.To create gap, we add ¾” to 1” to your
artwork’s dimensions, roughly ⅜” to 1⁄2” inch space all around the artwork.

Now if you want to frame with gap. Here are a few steps to get that professional alignment.

To achieve even gaps around all sides of the floater frame, you will need placeholder spacers.
You can make these spacers with cardboard leftover from packaging or any sheets with even
thickness. Cut the cardboard into small strips (e.g. 2 X 3 inches).

Now place your canvas inside the floater frame.

Add spacers evenly to all four sides. Until the canvas is secure to the frame.

Now flip both the floater frame and canvas wrap face down, make sure the joints of both
floater frame and canvas are aligned in all four corners.

Place offset clips accordingly to frame size. For small frames you may place offset clips
on the top center and bottom center of the frame. Note* offset clip position may differ
based on the size of the frame.

Screw in the both offset clip into the canvas frame, and check alignment, if necessary
re-position. Once centered, screw in the rest of the offset clips.

Now your canvas is secure with even space in all four sides.
