Folded Artist Canvas Blanket!

    When it comes to creating your own canvas artwork, there are many ways to go about getting your canvas material! With options such as buying pre-stretched canvas or loose canvas sheets, every artist has a different preference. Especially with the added confusion of choosing a primed or unprimed canvas! As well, stretched canvas is more likely to receive damage if being shipped as well as take up a bulkier amount of room, as well as a canvas roll can be heavy and bulky when storing. Here at KeenArt Media, we do offer both stretched canvas and rolled canvas, however we recently added a new canvas item that may be even easier to store! The Folded Artist Canvas Blanket is a sheet of canvas that comes folded instead of rolled or stretched, that way it is easier to store as well as ship. The minimal space it takes up makes it easy to store, and the canvas material can be used exactly the same as the others! This unprimed canvas is perfect for the do it yourself artist who loves to stretch and prime their own canvas. With its compact storage, this canvas blanket is very easy to transport. 

The Folded Canvas Blanket is available in multiple sizes:

• 96 inch by 6 yards

• 120 inch by 6 yards

• 144 inch by 6 yards

Since this canvas does come folded, it does require minimal maintenance before use. The creases on the canvas can rather be ironed out prior to stretching OR after tightly stretching, lightly mist the canvas with warm water to remove any wrinkles. This method of canvas is both convenient when it comes to storing and transporting, as well as affordable for the amount of canvas received. It is also important to note that only raw canvas can be folded whereas primed canvas cannot be folded but must be sent as a roll in order to not damage the Gesso coating. As well, a large size mural folded canvas can be primed at location, then hung for display and afterwards rolled up to store away. Whereas a large framed canvas is permanent and requires a large space for storage.
